A tourist visa to Japan is granted to passengers travelling to Japan for a short-term stay for the purpose of tourism (sightseeing, visiting friends and relatives, leisure) or medical check-up and medical treatment.
A tourist visa can be issued as a single-entry (3 months validity) or a multiple-entry visa. Only applicants from India, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, China, Russia, Ukraine, Mongolia, and Saudi Arabia are eligible to apply for a multiple-entry visa. For applicants from other countries, a multiple-entry visa is not applicable, unless it is for business purposes and it is subject to the Embassy’s approval
We can only accept applications from travellers whose departure date is at least 35 days (5 weeks) from the date of submission.
Applicants must agree to provide photocopies of pages showing Japanese entry and exit stamps after their trip as a part of the embassy’s verification process. Please note that failure to provide the required entry and exit stamp records may lead to future processing or immigration issues with the Japanese Embassy.
According to the rules of the Japanese embassy, travellers are expected to travel on their indicated dates, unless a valid medical or humanitarian reason is provided.
If an applicant is a retiree, unemployed, homemaker, student or minor, the following documents have to be submitted:
