• Business visa to Taiwan – Sri Lankan passport

Currently, Sri Lankan nationals are not able to apply for a tourism visa to Taiwan. Sri Lankan nationals can apply for a Taiwan visit visa if they are only travelling to Taiwan for any of the following purposes:

    • Business
    • Official visit at the invitation of a government agency of the Republic of China (Taiwan)
    • Participation in international conferences or events
    • Family visits (limited to relatives within the third degree of kinship)
    • Boarding a vessel in Taiwan as a crew member
    • Short-term medical treatment

As there is no Taiwanese Embassy in Sri Lanka, eligible applicants may submit their application through the Taipei Representative Office in the Republic of Singapore via a proxy. We can assist.

Application procedure for a business visa to Taiwan (SL passport)

    Step 1 – Document review

Prepare the following documents and deliver the required hard copies to our office for review and submission at the Taipei Representative Office in the Republic of Singapore. If required, we can arrange for courier service from your location. Please enquire via email.

    • General visa application form. All visa applications must be applied using an online visa form only.
    • Copy of a passport biopage.
    • 2 recent passport-size colour photographs on a white background – can be arranged in our office. You cannot wear a white top; the top must have sleeves.
    • Invitation letter from the Taiwanese business counterpart.
    • Original non-criminal record (police clearance certificate from Sri Lanka)
    • Recent 3 months financial statements
    • Hotel booking
    • Flight tickets
    • Scanned copy of the Guarantee letter from the Taiwan Sponsor.

    Step 2 – Sponsorship application (V number)

    • Upon successful submission, the Taipei Representative Office in the Republic of Singapore will issue a V number. The applicant must provide this V number to their sponsor in Taiwan. The sponsor will then need to contact the Bureau of Consular Affairs in Taiwan to initiate the required sponsorship application. The process may take 2-3 weeks.

    Step 3 – Passport stamping

    • Once the sponsorship application has been approved, the Taipei Representative Office in the Republic of Singapore will notify our visa agent.
    • The applicant must then visit the Taipei Representative Office in person to submit their original passport for visa stamping. Our visa representative will meet the applicant at the office to provide guidance during the submission process.
