• Russian e-visa

Citizens of 55 countries may be granted a single-entry Russian e-visa to enter the Russian Federation through the certain border crossing points.

A single-entry electronic visa allows a foreign citizen to enter the Russian Federation once and stay in the Russian Federation on a guest or business visit, as a tourist, as well as to participate in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic, sports events and make relevant connections and contacts. If the purpose of your journey to Russia does not correspond to any of the above, you should apply for a traditional (non-electronic) visa.

E-visa is a single-entry visa and is valid for 60 days from the date of its issuance. The permitted stay in Russia with an e-visa is up to 16 days starting from midnight (00:00) of the date of entry, within its validity period. E-visa’s validity and/or the permitted stay under it cannot be extended. Entry and exit with e-visas is allowed by air, road and water transport, as well as without the use of vehicles only through checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation. E-visas are valid for stay all across the country.

    Eligibility for a Russian e-visa

    • You can fill in an application form for an e-visa not earlier than 20 days and no later than 7 days before the intended date of entry into the Russian Federation.
    • Passport should have at least six months validity from the date you applied for an e-visa with free space for border crossing stamps.
    • Your digital colour photo in the JPEG format (see requirements in the online application form).
    • No invitations, hotel booking confirmations nor any other documents that confirm the purpose of your journey to Russia are required.
    • Surname and given name(s) of the applicant are required. If the applicant does not have a surname or a first name(s) the e-visa application cannot be accepted for processing. In this case, it is necessary to apply for a traditional (non-electronic) visa.
    • Day, month and year of the applicant’s date of birth must be all known. If the date of birth of the applicant is unknown or partially unknown, the e-visa application cannot be accepted for processing. In this case, it is necessary to apply for a traditional (non-electronic) visa.
    • If the applicant is assumed to be accompanied by minors who are endorsed in their passport, an individual e-visa application form must be submitted for each child. All the minors who accompany their parents must have an individual e-visa.
